We would like to thank Rob Collins for donating his time and talents to create our website. Rob has a special interest in our agency because his daughter, Cassidy was born with a heart defect called Transposition of the Great Arteries. This means that the aorta and the pulmonary artery are connected in the wrong places so oxygen-poor blood returning from the body to the right atrium and the right ventricle is pumped out to the aorta and the body, while the oxygen-rich blood returning from the lungs to the left atrium and ventricle is sent back to the lungs. Cassidy had her first surgery when she was just 12 hours old and then underwent open heart surgery six days later. She has had two catheterizations since then and may require more surgery as she gets older. Cassidy is almost 13 years old. She is a very special young lady who enjoys acting in plays, playing volley ball, and was the national spokesperson for the American Heart Association.

A very special thank you to Bryan Farris, a Heart Society board member, who has known Rob for some time and recruited him to volunteer for the Heart Society!
